This is a great question. Refrigeration is entirely up to you and your preferences!
Technically, Barney Butter almond butter, like other nut butter, do not need to be refrigerated. One reason that refrigeration is often recommended is to prevent oil separation. We have also found that refrigeration after opening does prolong the freshness of Barney Butter. We have many customers who prefer our almond butters refrigerated, especially after they have been sent in the mail. If you live in a warm or hot climate, our almond butter could arrive thinner than you would like. Putting them in the fridge and giving them a good stir produces a thicker texture and stronger flavor. Do what feels right for you and your almond butter spreading needs.
