Fear not! All of the Almond Butter that was originally intended for your oh-so-anticipated jar of Barney Butter is in-tact.
Here’s what happened:
At Barney Butter, we offer two jar sizes of our tasty almond butters – 10 oz. and 16 oz. (in addition to Snack Packs, Dip Cups, and more!).
We will let you in on a secret… Our 10 oz. jars of Barney Butter are actually 12 oz. size jars (with almond butter filled to exactly 10 oz.), and our 16 oz. jars are actually 18 oz. (with almond butter filled to 16 oz.)! Which means that each and every jar of Barney Almond Butter is measured and filled precisely to the 10 oz. or 16 oz. amount. Each jar is filled and weighed in production, and will not leave our plant in Fresno, California, if it does not reach full fill point.
So why do I still have an air pocket in my Barney Butter? Why did the almond butter sink in when I opened the freshness seal?
Good Question - While uncommon, the transport of Barney Butter from our plant to your local retailer sometimes involves the jostling around of batches of Barney Butter in transportation vehicles. Furthermore, if the product has been subjected to extreme changes in climate, altitude, and temperature (going from room temperature to hot or cold and vice versa), the almond butter can melt and shift around in the jar only to re-firm in an upside-down position, hence causing the bubble that you experienced.
Rest assured - all of your smooth and creamy Barney Butter is in the jar, ready for your kitchen!
